Grand Centre de Villeurbanne
The new Grand Centre de Villeurbanne is taking shape around the Gratte-Ciels neighbourhood. Heritage buildings are interwoven with the surrounding streets, avenues, gardens and squares. Our team has proposed a Lighting Master Plan (SDAL) offering lighting recommendations for the entire neighbourhood. The historic perspectives and façades are preserved, and the lighting typology used there is extended to the parallel avenues. Soft nighttime uses are enhanced by lowering the lighting to reinforce the common base. Above, the verticals are highlighted and overall colour control is implemented. At intersections with major roads, priority is given to pedestrians through low, functional lighting. Permanent, iconic lighting is planned for large and emblematic squares. Recommendations are made on a case-by-case basis for public gardens, with very warm colour temperatures ranging from 1800K to 2700K.
