Paillon Park promenade
As part of the Promenade du Paillon development and rehabilitation project in Nice, the park’s lighting design centers on a restrained, sustainable approach that respects the nocturnal environment. The lighting has been designed to guide pedestrian paths while integrating subtly into the landscape. To avoid any visual clutter, the fixtures favor direct integration into architectural and metalwork elements, notably through illuminated handrails and recessed lighting within low walls or beneath pergola structures.
The artworks installed along the route are subtly revealed by small ground-recessed spotlights, while the flower beds and notable trees benefit from soft, low-angle lighting that preserves the natural feel of the site. Finally, with a strict commitment to protecting the dark corridor (trame noire) and nocturnal biodiversity, the project relies on very warm color temperatures, strictly downward-directed light distributions, and a smart dimming system to lower illumination levels in the middle of the night.
